Taylor Swift now belongs to the Top 10 Country Star Big Earners
In country music tradition, stars are bred not born. They earn fans on music row and pray for fame at the Grand Ole Opry. But not Taylor Swift. At just 19 years old and on the brink of her first headlining tour, she was the biggest-selling solo artist of 2008, with more than 4 million albums sold. Swift made history as the only artist to have two albums among the year-end top 10 albums. Those albums sales, plus songwriting talent and a strong tour presence earned Swift the No. 4 spot on our annual list of country music’s top earners with an estimated take of $18 million.
